2024 Canfield Cardinal Classic Rules and Regulations

Laws of the Game All games will follow the rules to be used by the OHSAA during the Fall 2024 season except for changes here noted.

Player Eligibility Teams may use players who will be eligible for a High School team. Players from the same school may switch between teams fielded by that school.

Registration

Please Sign in at the Main tent 45 minutes prior to your first game.

Fees Must be Paid by May 15, 2024

Game Length Please make sure games start on time. Games are 40 minutes in length. All fields have games running continuously all day – there is 10 minutes allowed between games. Games will be started and stopped at the same time with the sound of an air horn from the Main Tent. Even if a game starts a few minutes late, due to late arriving teams, the game must end when the horn sounds. The teams "on deck” can take the field as soon as the prior game concludes, but on‐field warm‐up time will be limited. If a referee has not reported five minutes prior to the scheduled game start time, notify the Field Marshall so the situation can be resolved.

Weather

Please understand that we intend for every game to be played, but conditions that cause game cancellations, i.e. weather, forfeits, etc. will be cancellations and these games will not be made up. Since cancellations may cause realignments in schedules and divisioning, the administrators reserve the right to determine the fairest, safest, and best means to do so.

Ties Ties will not be broken.

Player Equipment In case of conflicting jersey colors the team listed first on the schedule will change to a different color. Teams will need to have matching uniforms. Numbers are not required but are very helpful for the referees. All other OHSAA player safety rules will be followed, i.e. the shin guard requirement and the prohibition of jewelry.

All Referee decisions will stand. There are no protests.
